Aunty: Role Models for Young Women

Be Kind Sydney Covid-19 Appeal is funding ‘Aunty: Role Models for Young Women’ with $27,000 so 3Bridges can match young First Nation girls at-risk with role models to help them overcome barriers to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

This project is an extension of an existing 3Bridges early intervention program that provides casework and culturally appropriate support to young vulnerable Aboriginal girls. Noticing a lack of female role models, 3Bridges set out to make sure these young women have the opportunity to meet and learn from successful Aboriginal women, see Indigenous excellence in action and understand the role of culture and country for their own future.

Responding to direct need within the community, the leadership team of 3Bridges were recognised as finalist in the 2019 NSW Aboriginal Women of the Year.

Be Kind Sydney is delighted to support 3Bridges an innovative charity making a difference in our community. This video was prepared to share their work with our partner Bennelong Foundation who have pledged $17,000 to support ‘Aunty’ through Be Kind Sydney.
