Many families in the Bankstown community struggle to make ends meet and put food on the table. This project will alleviate the pressure of hunger. It will enable parents and caregivers to know their children’s health and wellbeing is taken care of, whilst they focus on finding a job to get themselves back on their feet.
Community Support Services Inc. will co-ordinate the service. Fresh produce from Foodbank will be bought and stored in the ‘pantry’. Refugees, struggling families, and others in the community will come and choose what they need to feed themselves. Those who are financially stable will purchase, and anyone unable to pay will receive the food for free or donate any amount they can to benefit the The Village Pantry.
